Somali president opens national dialogue in Baidoa city


The president of Somalia Hassan Sheikh opened on Thursday the National Consultative Council between the federal government and the regional states in Baidoa city.

The forum discusses the structure of national security, the process of federalization of financial system in Somalia, as well the elections at the federal and state levels, according to Villa Somalia statement.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Prime Minister of JFS Hamse Abdi Bare, Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama, Governor of Banadir Region Yusuf Hussein and Presidents of Galmudug, Southwest, Jubaland and Hirshabelle are in attendance.

The President of Puntland Said Abdullahi Deni did not participate in this meeting due to a fallout with Villa Somalia than began after his defeat in May 2022 presidential election.
